“Colin,” Jack offered, “is the best cook you’ll ever taste. He missed his calling as a restaurateur, but I think we may both be glad of that yet.”
The skinny man broke into a wide, goofy grin at the praise, and put a margarita glass in her hand. “Well, the food is nothing special, but you should taste my drinks!”
She giggled as he poured a red, frozen slushie directly from the blender into her glass, and allowed herself to be guided into the dining room.

Kate, Just Kate – Chapter 5aColin & Professor Pendry
Welcome To Arms – Chapter 3bDay One
“It’s really not you dear, and your office skills are irrelevant, it’s Tom Burch. If he’s already gotten into your panties he’ll get bored with you and move on to somebody new, if he hasn’t and you don’t let him, he’ll get frustrated and move on to somebody new. That man doesn’t know how to separate his office life from his home life.”
Welcome To Arms – Chapter 3aMore Than A Secretary
“Uh, Tom, why are there cameras in your washrooms?”
Tom looked at her with a gaze so serious she sat back a few inches. “Because if our cover gets blown and somebody decides to torture a cop, there’s a good chance they’ll do it in the bathroom where the blood is more easily cleaned up.”
“Oh.” Her voice was very sober.
Welcome To Arms – Chapter 2bWelcome To Arms
She took a moment to soak in the new face. He had dark, creamy skin, like mocha, and cold, wintery grey eyes. His face was flat planes and sharp angles, rugged and manly, and the two days worth of stubble didn’t look unkempt, but rather gave him a lone wolf or bad boy image. His hair was braided into corn-row braids that were pulled together to make a thick ponytail that hung down to his shoulders. Lost in the feel of his rough and strong hand on hers, she almost missed her captain introduce the man.
Welcome To Arms – Chapter 2aStress Relief
Fire spread up Casey’s body and she pressed a hand against her stomach, right above where Ms. Scarlett was massaging her inside, then moved that hand up her thin belly and traced her fingers over the bulge of a huge breast that hung to the bottom of her rib cage, cascading over her side. She rubbed her finger gently up that breast and around her huge, pink areola, spiraling in to the tall nipple, which was aching for attention. She teased it for a moment before grabbing the breast and picking it up, she took the nipple in her mouth and began sucking rhythmically.
Welcome To Arms – Chapter 1The Mysterious Phone Call
It was a dark and foggy night, which made the sounds of hi-los, cranes, and curses from the loading docks sound eerily inhuman as they echoed across the loading yard and to where Constable Haylett had parked her bike under the dingy, yellow light of a flickering street lamp. A draft of cold, salty, ocean air swept around her, searching for a way inside the trench coat.
Welcome To Arms – Introduction
“Rogler Jennsen, sume cum laude.” The president’s voice echoing through the overhead speakers dragged Rogler out of that distant memory and back to the present. He stepped forward and accepted the scroll, shaking the president’s hand.
Kate, Just Kate – Chapter 4Powers
“Yes, officer? I want to report a mugging. I left their unconscious bodies in the park by Bitter Lake.” She paused. “No, I didn’t mug them, they tried to mug someone else and I put a stop to it. No, no name, I just wanted to report it so they can be picked up before they wake up. Thanks officer.”
Kate, Just Kate – Chapter 3Broken
“Oh my God, Jack this is not okay! I can see inside myself, why can I see inside my body?” She began sobbing as she wrapped her arms around her stomach, and her exposed internal organs faded from view. Panicked even more, she moved her arms away again, but her insides remained gone. With a final “Oh my God, this can’t be happening.” She broke down and sobbed.
Kate, Just Kate – Chapter 2Changes
The bell dinged and the doors opened. She walked to the bathroom and began trying to clean herself up to change into her work clothes. She took off the ruined sweatpants and wiped the grime and dirt off her legs, examining the damage. She stared at her shins in surprise, they were seriously bruised, but no skin was broken and the pain didn’t match the purple blotches. She was somewhat comforted to see that the rest of her body was returning to it’s normal tanned color, so she shrugged off the bruises and got dressed for work wishing she’d chosen pants instead of a skirt today.
Kate, Just Kate – Chapter 1Infection
“Thank you.” The big officer sounded sincere as he leaned forward and hovered his finger above the ‘Stop’ button on the recorder. “And I have one more question I need to ask. A significant number of the victims who’ve been treated after using this drug have been found to have a serious secondary infection. We don’t yet know whether the blood you came into contact with was infected, but we don’t want to take the risk. I need to ask you to take a blood test.”
Free Sky – Part 2Below
They stood together staring across the sand at the half-naked, dark skinned angel that lay dying before them. The child spoke again first. “Ma, how can I go to heaven?”
Free Sky – Part 1Above
“Daddy, what’s underneath the clouds?” The little girl dangled her legs over the edge of the observation platform, as she looked down at the rolling mass of gray mountains and valleys beneath them.
The Crash – Part 2
“I’m not going to tell you how to kill me, Pete, but I’ll tell you some things that won’t work.” He advanced a pawn, placing it between the queen and his rook. “Churches and crosses. I’ve made my lair in a damned church and sleep under a cross. Garlic doesn’t do anything either. I don’t eat the stuff, but it doesn’t hurt me.”
The Crash – Part 1
George interrupted himself. “Yeah, I see where you’re going with this. I probably should have been afraid when she took her hands off the wheel. We were going 60 miles an hour, but I wasn’t afraid. Instead I unbuckled and slide over to her and began to kiss her. I remember horns from other cars as we crossed the median into the oncoming lane, but I don’t remember going through the railing. All I remember is kissing her, and then waking up as the EMT hoisted me back up the cliff on a body-board.”
